UX/UI Accessibility Leader

Your challenges and objectives:
- Act as a subject matter expert in accessibility, guiding design teams to incorporate best practices into UI/UX from the early stages of the design process.
- Provide practical suggestions for improving the accessibility of both existing and new products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote and advocate for the importance of accessibility across the organization.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest accessibility legislation, trends, tools, and technologies, ensuring Avature remains compliant and competitive.
Your day-to-day activities:
- Actively contribute to the creation and updating of Avature’s accessibility roadmap, ensuring alignment across teams.
- Collaborate with our designers to ensure that design decisions align with adopted accessibility standards.
- Review designs to confirm they meet accessibility standards.
- Train and mentor our designers on creating accessible products.
About you:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Extensive background in digital product design, especially in UI design, with a focus on accessibility.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.2 AA and other international guidelines.
- Ability to apply accessibility standards, test implementations, with a commitment to prioritizing accessibility.
- Proactive, curious, and ownership-driven, ensuring that accessibility is always prioritized.
- Advanced oral and written English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in leading teams or mentoring others, establishing yourself as a technical expert on accessibility.
- Knowledge of web development practices related to accessibility is a strong plus.
- Experience conducting or participating in accessibility audits for digital products.
