Avature

Avature’s Tests team mission is to develop and monitor the system that executes automatic tests for our core app. They provide the infrastructure so that every change made by developers is tested and approved, detecting failures as early as possible and suggesting code improvements. 

As a Software Engineer you’ll work on backend and frontend engineering, as well as DevOps and Ops, with the focus of scaling our infrastructure to minimize task execution time and ultimately impact the tools used by all the developers in our organization.

Your challenges and objectives:

• Provide the environments where Avature's core application is tested.
• Design and implement the deployment and configuration of test applications.
• Envision integrations between different internal systems.
• Program complex operations to be scalable in globally distributed data centers.

Your day-to-day activities:

• Develop system tools to automate testing of Avature’s core functionality.
• Interact with different virtualization platforms, such as AWS, LXD, and Docker.
• Design and develop highly distributed systems.
• Perform code reviews, technical analysis of existing code, and refactors to improve code quality.
• Manage the infrastructure needed to run all of the above.
• Promote best practices in deployments and infrastructure management across various teams.

About you:

Minimum Qualifications: 

* Software development skills and methodologies. 

* Superior analytical/troubleshooting skills. 

* Solid understanding of operating system concepts. 

* Knowledge (or willingness to learn) infrastructure management technologies, such as Puppet, Terraform, LXD, AWS, or Docker. Preferred Qualifications: 

* Fluency in any structured programming language (preferably Python). 

* Open-source experience or contribution to any Linux/Unix distribution. 

* Experience in product as a service operation.
