System Administrator

A full-stack System Administrator is a multi-faceted role that handles all aspects of deploying and ensuring the availability of our platform for customers with specific requirements. Working with extreme autonomy, they use the guidance of our Cloud Services area to carry out all DevOps and IT operations in an environment isolated from the rest of our infrastructure services.  

Your day-to-day activities:

  • Make available the environments where Avature's applications run. 
  • Manage the deployment and configuration of those applications.
  • Work on infrastructure systems maintenance and service tasks. 
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure incidents that might arise. 
  • Monitor, analyze and solve availability, security and performance issues. 

About you:

  • Be willing and eligible to pass various levels of government clearance over time.
  • Experienced in Amazon Web Services (S3, EC2, VPC, SQS, Security Groups, ELB), Linux and Docker.  
  • Knowledgeable in monitoring techniques and tools, automation, configuration management (e.g. puppet), Python and Bash. 
  • Code development skills, knowledge in product as a service operation and in MySQL are a plus.
  • Very autonomous person, used to working independently. 
  • Proactive when it comes to proposing solutions to problems that might come up.
